Introducing Principia
Every body continues in a state of uniform motion unless compelled to change by outside forces.
The change in motion is proportional to the force applied and is made in the direction in which the force is impressed.
To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
These are Isaac Newton’s three laws of orbital motion first proposed in his 1685 book, Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy (often called Principia). Hundreds of years later, these three principles would go on to play an integral role in the development of space flight.
Just as Newton’s principles helped rockets take flight, we as Principia apply a new iteration of these principles to make ideas take flight.
We are disruptors of uniform motion; impressing just the right stimulus, in the right direction to solve brands’ toughest communication problems and get audiences to not only react, but engage.

The Interns (left to right): Conner Mayheu, Natalie Rath, Jenna Leahy, Olivia Eubank, Tony Harper and John Schimpf.
Hey y’all! I am Conner Mayheu and will be the media strategist for this internship. I was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and currently live in O’Fallon, Illinois. My dad was in the Air Force so I have lived all over the world, including: North Carolina, Germany, Arkansas, Japan, Wyoming and now Illinois. I recently graduated from the University of Alabama with my bachelor’s in public relations and communications studies. Next year I will be returning to Alabama to finish my masters in advertising and public relations. The aspect that I am most excited for with Launchpad is being able to collaborate with others on putting forth a product that we are all proud of and have tremendous pride in. I am looking forward to learning more about the industry as a whole and being able to showcase my abilities. I am also looking forward to being able to understand the ins and outs of agency life and the social manners of the agency. My fun fact is that I am colorblind and that I used to have an internship working marketing with student painters where I was in charge of delivering the right color of paint to job sites. In my free time I enjoy finding new places to eat in the city as well as spend time with family. I am an avid sports fan and am always willing to sit down and talk about any and all sports. Looking forward to meeting all of you soon!
Hi! I am Olivia Eubank and I am really excited to be the Account Manager for this session! I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO as an only child and a part of a really small family. Currently I am a senior at Denison University in Ohio and majoring in Communication while minoring in Anthropology and Sociology. Being in Launchpad is really exciting because we will all be able to work in a collaborative group and experience the internship as an introduction to the “real world”. My fun fact is that I am 50% Turkish! Both of my grandparents moved to the United States from Turkey a long time ago. In my free time I like to take my dogs on a walk around the neighborhood and spend time with my family.
Hi guys! I’m Natalie Rath and I am the Content Manager & blog writer for this session of the HLK Launchpad Internship. I was born in San Francisco, CA, but I’ve lived in St. Louis for most of my life. I am a junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communication. I’m also getting minors in Business and Spanish. I plan on studying abroad and interning in Barcelona in the spring which I am so excited for. I love to travel to new places, stay active, watch Friends which is fitting for our group photo, and do digital design/edit photos. I’m so humbled to be part of HLK’s launchpad internship this summer. After this week, I have to say that I’m looking forward most to my personal growth. Already, I feel like I’ve learned so much from knowledgeable, friendly people here at HLK. I can’t wait to work closely with our intern group and learn from the feedback we get on our pitches. Ever since we all met at Seoul taco, I knew this group was going to be not only entertaining, but motivated and hardworking. My fun fact is I can recite 29 digits of the number pi (3.14) and I also have a twin sister who looks nothing like me.
Hello everyone! My name is Tony Harper and I am the Art Director for this session of the HLK Launchpad Internship. I originally hail from Jacksonville, North Carolina, but quickly moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Just recently I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where I majored in Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communication, as well as a minor in Sociology. I am excited not only to learn more about my craft and further hone my skills, but also to get to know the other interns in this session. It has only been a few days and already we seem to be getting closer by the minute! My fun fact is I occasionally work lighting for a DJ. When I am not working or drawing I love to cook with my parents, trying out new recipes and seeing what dishes I can create.
Hi y’all! My name is Jenna Leahy and I am the Brand Planner for the team! I am from St. Louis, and attend the University of Oregon. As a double major in Marketing and Political Science, I love to research and constantly learn. I am super excited to be back for session two and learn more in a different role. It’s so fun to get to work with a completely different team with different clients on a different position! In my free time I can be found at a coffee shop, snuggling with my dog, or at an indie-pop concert. A fun fact about me is that I am vegan.
2.7 billion years ago, lava poured out of cracks in the primordial ocean floor. The remains of this liquid magma would cool and harden, forming the North American Craton. Out of this landmass, the sprawling plains and low plateaus of Indiana were formed. And then I was born in the suburbs.
I’m John, and I’m the Copywriter for this session. I just graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a bachelor’s in Mass Communication and a minor in Business. I’m really excited to be able to learn from the crazy-talented writers at HLK and create some killer campaigns with my fellow interns.
A fun fact about me is that my Mom is a superhero. Seriously. Way, way back in the day, she was driving me to preschool for another day of action-packed learning and WHAM! Our stylish yet functional Ford Windstar is sideswiped by a criminal, fresh off of a bank robbery. The collision stopped the getaway vehicle and police were able to apprehend the suspect. She’s still waiting on her key to the city.
