Chapter 4: Embarking On a New Mission

Hey there Launchpad followers!

Week 4 means new project week; and us MoonwaHLKers could not be more excited! As Haley, our art director, wrote last week, we soared through our American Cancer Society final pitch with flying colors. I can speak for us all when I say that although our first project was completed, we were ready to kick start something new and learn more about a new project. Our new project we are working on is for Bayer’s Turf and Ornamentals department, where we are finding ways to reach municipal golf courses and expand Bayer’s client base. It has been truly a good time strategizing this project, and getting to learn more about golf is always a plus too!

With this new mention of golf courses, we have to remember the athletes that golfers are! So.. MoonwaHLKers.. If you could be famous for any sport, what would it be?

“If I could be famous for any sport, I think I would be famous for gymnastics. I think it would be incredible to be that fearless, and to just be able to throw a flip in the air at any time!” - Margaret Fitzgerald

“I think I would want to be recognized for soccer or surfing. Soccer naturally comes as my first answer from my 12 year career of playing and following all of my favorite players hoping to be like them one day. But in a more imaginative sense, I wish I was the world’s greatest surfer because I think that lifestyle is so fun, and I would love to spend my days at the beach in the water.” - Mallory Kimes

“I would either be famous for hockey or golf, both two of my favorite sports. If I had to pick one, it would probably be golf because I actually played it. If I could be half the electric factory Tiger Woods was on the golf course with his long drives, bold shot choices, and clutch putts, plus travel the world playing golf, that would be legendary.”   - Hunter Bickel

“I definitely would be famous for playing golf. Golf is one of the only professional sports in the world that you can play till you're 80 years old. The difference between an amatuer and a professional golfer is so large that I can’t believe how good professionals truely are. I would also have the upper hand when astonishing and demolishing my friends everytime we hit the course and play. Being famous in golf would be something that one could enjoy for their entire life.”

“I would definitely want to be famous for gymnastics as well (sorry Margaret). I did gymnastics as a little girl and loved it so much. I think there is something so rewarding about pushing yourself and your body to new limits and seeing all of your hard work pay off, and gymnastics is something that requires so much determination. Gymnastics is so fun to watch and I feel like it would be even more fun to be the one jumping and flipping everywhere! It would also be a great way to get my energy out.”  - Ashley Byer

“If I could be famous for any sport, I would definitely have to choose horseback riding. I’ve been riding horses since I was a little girl (about 5 years old!) and still love to do it to this day. Although I don’t compete in shows, I love the pure feelings of adrenaline, euphoria, and self-accomplishment after a good ride.” - Erin Wunderlich

“I’ve always been intrigued by Olympic Curling. The strategy and teamwork appeals to me, so I would want to be famous for curling! Not to mention, it just looks awesome to play. I’ve never played before, but maybe I need to try — it’s never too late!” - Haley Hoffman
