Chapter 6: Coming Back to Earth
Earth to MoonwaHLKers…it’s time to come back down to Earth. Sadly, week six means our time in the Launchpad program is coming to a close.
We’ve had such a great experience waHLKing on the moon, learning new things about working in the real world and facing the inevitable challenges that come with being in space. But hey, we made it!
This week we are presenting our final project about Bayer TNO, and then we will officially come in for landing and pass our spacesuits to the Session 2 Launchpadders. But first…one last question for the MoonwaHLKers! What was your favorite memory from being in space over the past six weeks?
“My favorite memory from the Launchpad program was being in the office! I loved getting to know the other interns this way, and we really bonded from working together each day. It was fun having them around when we needed to take brain breaks, go pick up lunch or even just to rant about random things. I’ll never forget awkwardly getting moved out of conference rooms because we didn’t realize there was a scheduled meeting in there. I also loved being able to meet with my mentor (shoutout Bella) in person and getting to know the other people in the office as well. I’m so glad in-person work is finally starting to come back!” - Ashley Byer
“The past six weeks have been filled with memories that will last a lifetime. I think my favorite part was getting to know the HLK mentors (especially my mentor Tom!!!!) and employees through coffee chats or random conversations while I was making tea in the kitchen! I loved hearing all the insights and advice they had to give. My other favorite part was growing close with each other and having lots of inside jokes or random conversations that led to lots of laughter and fun.” - Mallory Kimes
“Some favorite memories from my time in this Launchpad program are all of the zoom calls, google meets, and audio calls with my mentor, Torie, and the other interns. I love how this program had us all spend so much time together because it really strengthened our professional and personal relationships. Everyday I feel like I’m logging on to speak with really cool, creative, and inspirational people - and that’s the best part about working with HLK.” - Erin Wunderlich
“My favorite memories from our time here at HLK is picking the brain of my mentors and those that work here. Utilizing their knowledge and expertise allowed me to create my best work possible. It also allowed me to grow as an individual immensely because there are things that I will take with me for the rest of my career in advertising. I am extremely grateful for all the conversations and experiences I have had during the time of my internship and will apply them to every aspect of my professional career.” -Collin Clark
“My favorite memory of the last six weeks would definitely have to be getting the chance to work with so many other talented people. I think it's really cool to meet people who care about the same things you do and it just creates such a fun work environment. Everyday in the office was a fun day, and it made the internship shorter, which is so sad!” - Margaret Fitzgerald
“My favorite memory (or memories) was working on a full advertising team that covered all agency roles doing real projects. For me and many of my fellow MoonwaHLKers, it was our first experience like this. While it was challenging at times, having a team working with you made the job fun and easier through the whole journey.” - Hunter Bickel
“My favorite memory was going to Cherokee Street with my mentor to work from somewhere else. We struggled to find WIFI, but we made it work and I was able to shadow one of her meetings. We also got pastries, which were much needed after lots of hard work. I will always remember the wonderful bonds that I created through Launchpad.” - Haley Hoffman
Thanks for everything, HLK! We will miss our time as MoonwaHLKers and wish all the best to the future interns and everyone at the company.
Signing off,
The MoonwaHLKers
